KWAM/Memphis Inks Anchor Ben Deeter to Contract Extension

KWAM (The Mighty 990) in Memphis inks news anchor Ben Deeter to a long-term contract extension to remain with the Starnes Media Group Talk outlet. Deeter joined the station in 2021 and has won multiple Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Awards and also a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. Deeter will continue to co-host "Wake Up Memphis" after rejoining the program in 2022. Previously he served as the show's executive producer.

"Ben is one of the most respected journalists in Memphis because he is not afraid to ask the tough questions," said KWAM owner Todd Starnes. "He's one of the best young journalists in the country."

"For Ben Deeter, this is a job and passion, not a side hustle," added SMG CEO Dalton Glasscock. "Ben is the only local conservative morning show host in Memphis bringing you the news every day."
