Morning hosts Maxwell Schaeffer and Amy Sweet exit WHO-AM (Newsradio 1040) in Des Moines, after hosting wakeups on the iHeartMedia News/Talk outlet since 2021 following the retirement of longtime host Van Harden. Schaeffer joined the cluster in 2018 as Director of Promotions and Marketing from Des Moines Radio Group where he served 23 years as a morning host on KIOA-FM. He began his career at KVIC-FM/Victoria, TX, and is a member of the Iowa Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

"Our sincere appreciation goes out to every listener who has tuned in to WHO over the years, making it possible for us to build upon the rich tradition of excellent programming that sets us apart from other stations," wrote Sweet in a social media post. "We have truly enjoyed connecting with each one of you through various initiatives designed to foster deeper connections within our beloved community."

Sweet worked alongside Schaeffer in mornings at KIOA for 12 years until her exit in 2020 and then joining WHO with Schaeffer.
