iHeartMedia elevates Rob Dawson to News Director of the Rocky Mountain Region for its 24/7 News service, following the semi-retirement of longtime news leader Kathy Walker. Walker, who has been with iHeartMedia for 35 years, will remain with the company in a part-time role within the Denver newsroom.
"We are excited to bring Rob's enthusiasm and professionalism to our management team," said Chris Berry, Executive Vice President of 24/7 News. "He will continue leading the team on the path blazed by Kathy Walker."
Dawson began his tenure with iHeartMedia in Denver in 2016 before moving to New York. After working with FOX News Radio, he rejoined iHeartMedia and its 24/7 News division in 2022. His career also includes experience at SiriusXM in Washington D.C. and WNEW, where he served as an anchor and street reporter.
As News Director, Dawson will now oversee news operations and editorial content across iHeartMedia's stations in a nine-state Rocky Mountain region, in addition to supporting non-iHeart affiliates.
