Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) news veteran Nina Moini is named host of the noon show "Minnesota Now," taking over from Cathy Wurzer, a Minnesota Broadcast Hall of Famer. Moini, who has been with MPR News since 2017, will officially begin her role in mid-November. Moini's career at MPR has seen her cover a broad range of topics, from public safety to immigration, for both radio and digital platforms. She's also served as a fill-in host for "All Things Considered" and other programs.

Moini said, "I'm incredibly honored to serve as the host of a thoughtful and down-to-earth hour of Minnesota news. Thanks to the vision of Cathy Wurzer and a brilliant team, we have a vibrant and creative foundation to build upon." She added that Minnesota has been her home for most of her life, and she looks forward to sharing more stories that connect and enrich the lives of listeners.

MPR News cited Moini's experience and deep connection to the state as key factors in selecting her to carry forward the show's mission of building authentic connections with Minnesotans.
