Kevin Freeman, a cornerstone of Indianapolis morning radio, has concluded his 34-year tenure at Counry WFMS (95.5). His departure marks the end of an era for the station where he started his career in 1990, initially making waves as a news reporter before rising to morning host.

Freeman gained popularity on the "Jim & Kevin Show" alongside Jim Denny, a Country Radio Hall of Fame member, starting in 1996. The show later expanded to include Deb Honeycutt, evolving into the award-winning "Jim, Deb & Kevin" morning program. Following Denny's retirement at the end of last year, Freeman teamed up with Matt Malone, who moved from afternoons to mornings, and Honeycutt to continue entertaining Indy's listeners with a program newly billed as "Indy's Morning Show with Deb, Kevin & Matt."

In addition to his role at WFMS, Freeman was also known for his overnight hosting on Westwood One's Classic Country network. His recent departure was announced via a Facebook post where Freeman shared his appreciation for his coworkers and listeners, and his anticipation for future endeavors. His exit not only signifies a significant change for WFMS but also for the landscape of local Indianapolis radio.
