Audacy names Chris Fillar as the new morning co-anchor on WWJ-AM (WWJ Newsradio 950) in Detroit. Fillar steps into the role alongside Jackie Paige, with the duo now leading weekday broadcasts from 5-10am ET. Fillar, who has delivered sports updates on WWJ and sister WXYT-FM (97.1 The Ticket) since 2018, brings more than a decade of broadcasting experience to the post.
"We are excited to have Chris bring his passion and energy to the morning show," said Debbie Kenyon, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Audacy Detroit. "Chris and Jackie are a powerful team, and we're confident they'll make an impact every morning while connecting with our listeners."
Fillar began his career at 102.1 The River in West Virginia, serving as both Sports Director and Program Director. In 2011, he joined Audacy (then CBS Radio) as a host and producer at WKRK-FM (92.3 The Fan) in Cleveland before transitioning to the Detroit market.
"I'm ecstatic to take on this new role alongside Jackie and the entire fantastic morning newsroom at WWJ," Fillar said. "It's an honor to wake up and deliver trusted news to our listeners, and I'm humbled to work with such a great team."
