After three decades on the air in Jackson, MS, longtime air personality Nate West has signed off from New South Radio's Country WUSJ (US 96.3). West, who co-hosted mornings alongside Program Director Traci Lee and Hannah Lane, announced his departure during Monday's show. His final day will be September 12.
West, known off-air as Nate "Dugger" Dugger, has been a fixture in the Jackson market since the mid-1990s. He spent the majority of his career with sister CHR WYOY (Y101), where he served as Assistant PD/MD and morning co-host before moving to WUSJ in October, 2020. The move marked a return to WUSJ, where he previously held roles including Assistant PD, morning co-host, and interim PD in 2016-17.
On social media, Traci Lee paid tribute to her longtime colleague: "I have been a fan of yours for over 20 years. We have grown up, learned, won, and lost together. I will miss you more than you know in the mornings."
West is leaving broadcasting for a position outside the industry. Traci Lee and Hannah Lane will continue as co-hosts in mornings at US 96.3.
