NPR has added reporter Miles Parks as a co-host of the NPR Politics Podcast, joining Tamara Keith and Sarah McCammon. Parks will continue his reporting for NPR's Washington Desk, where he covers voting and election security. NPR's Chief Washington Editor Krishnadev Calamur and Senior Supervising Editor Muthoni Muturi praised Parks' "organic curiosity" and ability to guide conversations with depth and authenticity.
Parks, who first came to NPR in 2014 as a Stone & Holt Weeks Fellow, began covering election issues after the 2016 presidential race. He has also reported for The Washington Post and The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida.
"I love being on this show for the same reasons I fell in love with it as a listener 10 years ago," said Parks. "Our format allows a level of detail and nuance that feels refreshing in the era of social media politics. The current moment often feels impossible to fully understand, but I'm honored and excited to get to the bottom of it with our listeners."
The NPR Politics Podcast, launched in 2015, is preparing to mark its 10th anniversary with a live show at NPR Headquarters in Washington, DC, on October 30. The event will feature Keith, McCammon, Domenico Montanaro, Mara Liasson, Parks, and others, with discussions focused on the 2026 midterm elections.
