After six years of syndicated morning shows, Connoisseur Media's Alternative WGHL (Alt 105.1) Louisville is changing course. The station announced it will drop Premiere Networks' The Woody Show in favor of a local, music-focused morning presentation beginning Monday, October 20, hosted by current midday talent Kenzie.
The move follows a string of syndicated offerings since Alt 105.1's 2018 launch, including Brooke & Jeffrey, Dave & Mahoney, and most recently The Woody Show from KYSR Los Angeles. In a tongue-in-cheek "apology" posted to listeners, the station admitted that years of shifting lineups had left mornings "a loud, messy" mix of experiments and pledged a simpler approach -- "more music mornings."
Kenzie, a Michigan native, currently handles middays on WGER (106.3 The Core) Saginaw, afternoons on WCLI-FM (101.5 The Fridge) Dayton, and weekends at KBFF (Live 95.5) Portland. She began her career at Cumulus CHR WIOG Saginaw before joining WGER when it flipped to Alternative in 2022.
Alt 105.1's statement closes with a wink: "Apology accepted? Disaster minimized? Thanks for staying with us."
