After thirteen years on the air, comedian Bill Crawford is stepping down from the morning show at iHeartMedia's Classic Rock 102.5 WDVE in Pittsburgh to devote more time to his stand-up comedy career.
Crawford, who joined the WDVE morning lineup in 2012 after years as a frequent guest, announced his departure to listeners saying, "It's not an easy decision, because I love this show, and this city and you guys so much. But sometimes you've just gotta follow your calling and listen to that voice that says, it's time."
Morning host Randy Baumann and Abby Krizner will continue with the show following Crawford's exit. Baumann expressed his support, writing, "Completely bummed about this but realize Bill's ambition and aspirations are in pursuing his comedy/standup career. As I've always said, he's one of the best in the country and he's gonna kill it - but it's beyond hard to see him go. After all... he's a DVE guy!"
Crawford, a Pittsburgh native, began performing stand-up locally and nationally in the mid-2000s before becoming a regular on WDVE. His mix of humor and local insight helped make him a fan favorite among Pittsburgh radio listeners.
