WDRV (97.1 The Drive) in Chicago adds a familiar Windy City voice to its daily lineup, announcing that veteran rock radio personality Tim Virgin is joining the Hubbard Radio Classic Rock outlet. Brand and Content Director Keith Hastings confirmed the move on Monday.

Virgin, whose presence has been a staple on Chicago airwaves for decades, is known for his trademark voice, quick humor and lifelong passion for rock. His return pairs him once again with the music and listeners that have defined much of his career.

"Tim is a multi-talented personality who will bring tremendous value to Driver Nation, our advertisers, and the community," said Hastings. Virgin will now be heard in afternoon drive on both KSHE/St. Louis and 97.1 The Drive in Chicago.

The move marks a homecoming for Virgin, who said the time away made it clear where he belonged. "A few months away was long enough to remind me exactly where I belong - on a legendary station in the city I love, talking about the music that raised me - Rock! Huge thanks to Keith Hastings, Keith Lawless, and Greg Strassell for bringing me on board. Chicago... let's get loud!"

With Virgin stepping into afternoons, Janda Lane will move to middays. Lane will also continue hosting her weekly Behind The Song podcast, which earned a Marconi Award and a Silver Dome honor from the Illinois Broadcasters Association as the 2025 Podcast of the Year.
