Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3) has signed a five-year extension with longtime morning host Jim Kerr. A Radio Hall of Famer, Kerr joined Q104.3 in January, 2002. Over a career spanning more than 50 years in New York, he has become the city's longest-running morning radio personality. In addition to his daily show, Kerr has hosted the iHeartRadio Icon series, conducting in-depth interviews with prominent music figures.

Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO of iHeartMedia, said Kerr's tenure has left a lasting mark on both the city and the industry, calling him a trusted voice for generations of listeners. Thea Mitchem, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia, described Kerr as synonymous with New York radio and said the company looks forward to continuing the partnership.

Kerr has hosted morning shows on six New York stations, including 23 years at Q104.3 and 15 years at WPLJ, where he became the city's youngest morning host at age 21. His career has also included stops at stations in Chicago, Detroit and Orlando. He began working in radio at 14 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after first being inspired by a childhood visit to a Detroit radio station.

Reflecting on his career, Kerr said he still feels fortunate to do the job he dreamed about as a child, describing his audience as friends he connects with each morning across cars, homes and workplaces throughout the region.

Beyond broadcasting, Kerr has remained active in civic and charitable work. He has served for 40 years on the board of HeartShare Human Services of New York and is a board member of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. He also serves as a Vice President of SAG-AFTRA.

Under the new agreement, Kerr will continue to anchor mornings on Q104.3 through the end of the decade.
