iHeartMedia's KYSR-FM (Alt 98.7) in Los Angeles has named Nicole Alvarez as the station's new midday host, effective March 2. Alvarez joined Alt 98.7 in December and now moves into the 10am-2pm shift as part of a revamped weekday lineup.

A Los Angeles radio veteran with more than two decades of experience, Alvarez began her career at age 18 and spent 23 years at KROQ, where she became known for her artist-focused approach and strong ties to the alternative music community.

As part of the programming change, Christen Limon transitions from middays to nights, where she will continue to serve as the station's Music Director while hosting the 6-11pm shift.

Lisa Worden, SVP of Alternative and Rock for iHeartMedia and Program Director for Alt 98.7, said the move completes what she described as a "totally stacked weekday line-up" for the station.

Alt 98.7's weekday schedule now features The Woody Show from 5-10am, Nicole Alvarez from 10am-2pm, Booker & Stryker from 2-6pm, Christen Limon from 6-11pm, followed by Emerging ALT from 11pm-midnight.
