WEEI Boston has named Rich Shertenlieb as co-host of a new weekday afternoon show, alongside Ken Laird and Ted Johnson. The program will air from 2-6pm.

Mike Thomas, Senior Vice President of Programming and Sports Format Vice President, said the combination of Shertenlieb's on-air style, Johnson's playing experience and Laird's familiarity with the station will create a show designed to connect with Boston sports fans.

Shertenlieb brings nearly two decades of Boston radio experience, including time at WBCN and WBZ-FM, where he co-hosted mornings for 14 years. Most recently, he co-hosted mornings at WZLX alongside Johnson.

Laird, who began his career at WEEI in 2002, currently serves as the station's Brand Manager and Operations Manager, roles he will continue while co-hosting the afternoon show. His background also includes stops at ESPN Radio 1250 in Pittsburgh and TribLIVE Radio.

Johnson, a former New England Patriots linebacker, played 10 seasons in the NFL and was part of three Super Bowl-winning teams. He joined WEEI in 2025 after previous media roles in Boston and Houston and also contributes to NBC Sports Boston.

Shertenlieb said joining WEEI marks a meaningful next chapter, citing both the opportunity to reunite with Johnson and the station's longstanding ties to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund, which he noted have had a personal impact on his family.
