Cumulus Media has renewed "The John Phillips Show" under a new multi-year agreement, keeping the afternoon talk program on KABC and KSFO. Hosted by John Phillips and Randy Wang, the show airs weekdays from 12-3pm on the News/Talk outlets serving Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Phillips, an Orange County native, began his career as one of the youngest major-market talk hosts and currently contributes columns to the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Daily News. His background also includes roles as a sports anchor and producer, along with regular appearances on cable news.
Wang, a two-time Golden Mic Award winner, also hosts "KABC News Blitz," a weekday local news program airing in the early evening on KABC.
Larry Blumhagen, Regional Vice President and Market Manager for Cumulus Los Angeles and San Francisco, said the renewal ensures the program will continue delivering commentary and discussion on California issues to its established audience.
Phillips and Wang both said they look forward to continuing the show's run and connecting with listeners across Southern California, the Bay Area and beyond under the extended agreement.
