Learfield's Idaho Vandals Sports Properties and Horizon Broadcasting Group have announced a two-year agreement to bring University of Idaho football and men's basketball broadcasts to News Radio KBNW in Spokane-Coeur d'Alene.

KBNW, heard on 107.1 FM and 1230 AM, will carry all regular season and postseason Vandals football games as well as all regular season and postseason men's basketball contests. The station will also air weekly football and men's basketball coaches shows.

"We are excited to partner with Idaho Vandals Sports Properties to bring Idaho football and basketball game broadcasts to the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene market," said KBNW Market Manager Roger Nelson. He noted that approximately 16% of the University of Idaho's alumni reside in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene metropolitan area.

University of Idaho Director of Athletics Terry Gawlik said the agreement expands the Vandals' radio footprint beyond its existing group of affiliates across Idaho.

"It is a nice addition to our current group of affiliates across Idaho," said Gawlik. "As with the radio world, this broadens our listening audience in areas we have not been able to reach."

As part of the agreement, Idaho head football coach Thomas Ford and men's basketball coach Alex Pribble will make weekly appearances on KBNW's "Spokane's Morning News" on Mondays and Thursdays during their respective seasons.

Inland Northwest Sports Hall of Famer Dennis Patchin will begin his eighth season as radio voice of the Vandals. Former Idaho tight end Trent Cowan will join Patchin in the booth as analyst for all Vandals football broadcasts.
