iHeartMedia Philadelphia has named veteran Spanish-language radio personality Karen Munoz as afternoon co-host on WISX-FM (Rumba 106.1), joining Jonathan Tineo, also known as Deejay Jonathan. She begins Monday, August 31. In addition to afternoons, Munoz will host a Saturday show from 2-5pm. She will report to Tineo, who serves as Rumba 106.1's Director of On-Air Quality Assurance.

"Karen brings the personality, experience and connection to the Philadelphia community that we are looking for," said Tineo, who is also Director of On-Air Quality Assurance for iHeartLatino. "She knows how to entertain, connect and make listeners feel like they are part of the conversation."

Munoz brings more than a decade of Spanish-language media experience to Rumba. She began her radio career in 2011 at La šnica 1680 AM in Philadelphia before moving to WEMG-AM (La Mega 1310), where she appeared on "El Show de la Manana" and "Mega En Tus Mananas."

She later worked as a local producer and Philadelphia correspondent for the nationally syndicated "El Show de Luis Jimenez," providing local content, traffic and weather updates and coverage of events and issues in the market.

Munoz has also worked in television, film and digital media, including appearances on Telemundo 62's "Actualidad Informativa." In 2021, she created the digital platform "Bien Por Encima con La Srta. Karen," featuring interviews with artists, entrepreneurs and community leaders.

"I'm returning with more passion, more experience and an even greater love for what I do," Munoz said. "Philadelphia has been part of my story from the very beginning, and I'm ready to make this new chapter unforgettable."
