Beasley Media Group will move "The Maney & LauRen Morning Show" to WKQC-FM (K104.7) in Charlotte beginning September 21. The show, featuring Maney, LauRen and producer Big Al, moves from sister station WNKS (Kiss 95.1), where it has aired for more than a decade.
The change comes ahead of Beasley's pending sale of WNKS to Educational Media Foundation (EMF), which is expected to close by the end of September. Moving the morning show to WKQC will keep the team on Beasley-owned radio in the Charlotte market.
"Maney & LauRen have spent years building a loyal and dedicated group of listeners to their show," said WKQC Program Director Cameron Moore. "We're excited to bring those listeners to a new home, full of all your favorite songs. We're also excited to introduce The Maney & LauRen Morning Show to a new audience."
The program will continue to feature the team's mix of conversations, humor, pop culture and local topics each weekday morning.
The move also follows the previously announced departure of the syndicated "Bob & Sheri Show" from WKQC. "Bob & Sheri" will air its final Charlotte broadcast on September 18 before Maney & LauRen take over the morning slot the following Monday.
