Longtime Space Coast radio personality Bill Mick is retiring from iHeartMedia's WMMB (92.7 WMMB), concluding more than 25 years on the air in Melbourne, FL. His final edition of "Bill Mick LIVE" airs Friday, September 18.

Mick began his Space Coast radio career in 1998 and took over mornings at WMEL in Melbourne in 2001. He joined what is now iHeartMedia in 2004, where "Bill Mick LIVE" became a fixture in morning drive, airing weekdays from 6-9am. He also served as WMMB Program Director for much of his tenure.

During his career, Mick covered local issues and events affecting the Space Coast, interviewed newsmakers and provided extensive live coverage during hurricanes and other major events. He also regularly interviewed candidates for local office throughout Brevard County.

Before entering radio, Mick spent 17 years in law enforcement in his native West Virginia, working in patrol, SWAT and as a detective. He also served in the West Virginia Air National Guard and worked as a collegiate and minor league baseball umpire. Mick has also written nearly 500 bylined columns for publications including FLORIDA TODAY and the Tallahassee Democrat.

"When I started in radio, I was new to Brevard, but talking with local leaders, newsmakers and our listeners quickly taught me about this community and made it home for me and my family," said Mick. "The Space Coast is home, and I can't say thank you enough."

"Bill has been a trusted and familiar voice for listeners across the Space Coast for more than 25 years," added iHeartMedia Market President for Central Florida Judy Copier. "His commitment to delivering local news, thoughtful conversation and important information to our community has made a lasting impact on 92.7 WMMB and our listeners."
