102.9 KBLX in San Francisco has named Bay Area radio personality Mia Amor as its new weekday afternoon host, effective Monday, October 19. Amor will be heard weekdays from 2-7pm.
A San Jose native raised in the Bay Area, Amor returns to the San Francisco airwaves with an established connection to local listeners. She previously worked on-air in San Francisco from 2014 to 2018 and has held radio posts in both San Francisco and Sacramento.
"Mia is the perfect choice for 102.9," said KBLX Program Director Jim "Jazzy" Archer. "She's Bay Area through and through, and that connection is something you can't teach. She knows the people, the culture and the energy that make this community so special because she's lived it her entire life."
Archer added, "Mia brings an incredible spirit, genuine warmth and a dynamic presence to everything she does. We're thrilled to welcome her to the 102.9 family and bring her energy to afternoons."
Amor began her broadcasting career at age 18 as a radio station intern before advancing into on-air roles. Her professional background also includes work as an author, voice-over talent and event emcee.
Beyond broadcasting, Amor has remained active in community initiatives and maintains strong ties to the Bay Area's diverse culture, music and entertainment scene.
