American General Media's KJFA-FM & AM/Albuquerque flipped to "Fuego 102.9" at noon of Friday. It's the only station with a completely bilingual presentation in the market. Fuego 102.9 features uptempo music by today's Latin superstars such as J Balvin, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Maluma, Bad Bunny and more. Fuego's Latin Urban format is mostly focused on the reggaeton style of Spanish music and rolled commercial free over the Labor Day weekend.

"Albuquerque has been ready for a unique format like Fuego 102.9. We did an in depth research and came to the conclusion now is the time to make it hot in Albuquerque. Fuego will showcase the hottest Latino artist like Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Maluma and many more," said Program Director Rene Leon.

"Fuego 102.9 is a musical representation the evolving demographic landscape. This is an exciting time for our listeners and our clients as AGM delivers another engaging brand for New Mexico," added American General Media/Albuquerque and Bakersfield Regional Director of Operations & Programming Robert Lewis.

"Fuego means fire -- and it will be hot in Albuquerque. I am very proud of the product we are bringing to Albuquerque. It will be fun, exciting and very bi-lingual, representing the market here and the changing dynamic of our Hispanic population," commented AGM/Albuquerque General Manager Larry Lemanski.
