WYRD-FM (106.3 Word)/Greenville-Spartanburg, SC adds a simulcast of the Entercom News/Talk outlet on WZWK-LP at 101.5 FM, effective immediately. The move extends the reach of the station into Anderson County. WYRD launched in 2008 on 106.3 FM in Greenville and Spartanburg County, which had previously only broadcast on 1330 AM. The addition of the new translator will now allow the station to bring its signal to Anderson for the first time in the frequency's 30-year history.
"We're happy to meet the demand from listeners and advertisers to expand 106.3 WORD's over-the-air signal to Anderson County using 101.5 FM," said Entercom Greenville-Spartanburg Senior VP/Market Manager Steve Sinicropi. "Anderson is a fast-growing market that we are looking forward to serving with 106.3 WORD's programming on all of our platforms."
