JVC Media Adds Infectious Disease Expert Dr. Rajeev Fernandez
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, April 23, 2020 |
JVC Media has been working nonstop throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to bring it's listeners up to the minute information on the virus. The company's stations on Long Island NY, Orlando and Gainesville-Ocala FL are bringing listeners even more COVID-19 content with the addition of Infectious Disease expert Dr. Rajeev Fernandez on-air in each market. Based in Southampton, NY, Dr. Fernandez is the only U.S. based physician to investigate this outbreak in China, lending insight and knowledge to listeners.
"I'm thrilled that our company has been so supportive in allowing us to put a top Infectious Disease expert like Dr. Fernandez on-air every day. It shows JVC wants to ensure the Long Island community served by Party 105.3, which is essentially part of the epicenter of this virus, has as much information as possible," said WPTY-FM/Nassau-Suffolk, NY, morning host Steve Harper. "There are so many questions that go unanswered about COVID-19 and Dr. Fernandez work to answer them. Dr. Fernandez has answered questions from our listeners that we've all thought about including "When will a vaccine be available?" and "Is it safe to touch packages delivered by Amazon and FedEx during the outbreak?"
"You can't get clear answers about the 'Rona' from the media or government officials, so when we're able to talk to someone who literally was one of the first to find human to human contact with this virus was possible, it's a huge benefit for our Florida Man Radio listeners," Florida Man Radio's Shannon Burke said referring to Dr. Fernandez's initial COVID-19 investigation.
JVC Media President/CEO John Caracciolo added, "When we founded JVC, the goal was to be hyper-local and community focused. Having Dr. Rajeev Fernandez available to our loyal listeners does so much good for the communities we serve. The Doctor is so relatable, likable, and easy to listen to. It's like a friend giving us the answers to this crazy puzzle called Coronavirus. I'm grateful to Dr. Fernandez and our hard-working JVC family for working together to super-serve our hard-hit communities. It can't be said enough, we WILL get through this together."
