Bob Adams Exits Portland Radio Group as President and GM
RADIO ONLINE | Wednesday, June 10, 2020 |
Portland Radio Group President and General Manager Bob Adams exits the Maine station group after more than five years, reports the Portland Press Herald. Adams joined the Saga-owned stations back in 2014. Previously, he spent almost 14 years as VP/GM at then Citadel and the now Cumulus Media cluster in Harrisburg, PA.
According to an internal memo to employees obtained by the newspaper from Saga President/CEO Ed Christian and Senior VP/Operations Chris Forgy, Adams' departure was a need for a "more defined growth pattern." The memo called Adams "a fine, dedicated, career long broadcaster who all of us like and respect."
The Press Herald also noted that in the last three months, the local group had turned loose of Hot AC WMGX-FM (Coast 93.1) and AAA WCLZ-FM PD/Brand Manager Randi Kirshbaum and News/Talk WGAN-AM and W253GA morning co-host Ken Altshuler, as well as weekender John McDonald. Kirshbaum has hired a lawyer and plans to file a discrimination complaint with the Maine Human Rights Commission and a possible lawsuit, write the newspaper.
