South Florida Legend Sonny Fox Dead at 73

For decades, "Sonny in the Morning" was a phrase familiar to thousands in the South Florida area. The "Sonny" referred to Sonny Fox who had very successful stints on the former rock station WSHE 103.5 FM, contemporary pop WHYI Y-100.7 FM, oldies format Majic 102.7 FM and WKIS KISS Country 99.9 FM.

Sadly, Fox passed away at his home in Dunnellon, Florida on Friday. He was 73. His wife, Janet, made the announcement via a Facebook post. Two of his radio former partners, Ron Hersey and Joe Johnson, reported they were told he had liver failure. Radio Online wishes to express our deepest condolences to the Fox family.
