SiriusXM CEO James Meyer to Retire, Jennifer Witz New CEO

SiriusXM CEO James E. Meyer will retire on December 31, 2020 but remain as a member of the company's board of directors in the role of Vice Chairman. President of Sales, Marketing and Operations Jennifer C. Witz will succeed Meyer as CEO, effective upon his retirement. Witz, 52, has served as our in her current post since March 2019. Before that she was Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer from August, 2017 until March, 2019. Witz joined SiriusXM in March, 2002 and has served in a variety of senior financial and operating roles.

On September 14, 2020, SiriusXM Radio entered into a new employment agreement with Witz that becomes effective on the date she assumes the role of CEO and will continue through December 31, 2023. Witz will be appointed as a member of the company's board shortly after she assumes the role of CEO. Witz's new deal specifies an annual base salary of $1.75 million.

Additionally, SiriusXM has also announces that Chief Financial Officer David J. Frear will exit to pursue other opportunities, effective immediately. Following Frear's departure, the board appointed Sean S. Sullivan as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective as of October 26. Sullivan, 53, has been the Executive VP/CFO of AMC Networks Inc. since June, 2011. Before that, he served as Chief Corporate Officer of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, the predecessor of AMC Networks Inc.
