40 Years of Matty Siegel in the Morning

Celebrated Boston personality Matty Siegel is celebrating 40 years on Kiss 108's "Matty in the Morning." The station began the celebration this morning with 40 hours of highlights from Matty's legendary career and well wishes from celebrities including Gwen Stefani, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Joe McIntyre, David Ortiz, Ryan Seacrest and more.

As part of the celebration, the Mayor of Boston proclaimed today "Matty in the Morning Day" in Boston and the Governor of Massachusetts issued a citation in recognition of Siegel's dedication to entertaining and supporting the city of Boston. Venues all over Boston, including TD Garden, The House of Blues, Big Night Live, Wilbur Theatre and more saluted Siegel with congratulatory messages.

"Matty is a Boston institution. If you've spent any time in Boston, you know how big ‘Matty in the Morning' is," said Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer and President for iHeartMedia. "Forty years working in this industry is an impressive accomplishment, but 40 years hosting a top-rated morning show for one station is truly special."

Siegel's celebrated career boasts Marconi Award wins in 2001 and 2009 for Personality of the Year - Major Market, a 2012 Massachusetts Broadcast Hall of Fame induction and a Radio Hall of Fame nomination. In addition, Siegel consistently ranks No.1 among women 18-49 in Boston.

"Matt Siegel is an amazing talent who consistently performs at the highest level," said Alan Chartrand, Market President for iHeartMedia Boston. "He is so competitive that he strives to win every day he's on the air, and the proof is in his dominating ratings for the past four decades. All of us here at iHeartMedia Boston congratulate him on this huge milestone of being on the air at Kiss 108 for 40 years - it is truly a remarkable accomplishment."

"Any conversation about Boston radio starts with Matty Siegel," said Dylan Sprague, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Boston. "He's the ultimate storyteller with impeccable comic timing and an authentic, unfiltered view of the world. He's perfectly in tune with Boston and has found a way to continually evolve the show and capture the next generation of listeners year after year - all without changing who he is. That's why he's number one. Congratulations Matty on 40 years at Kiss 108!"

"In my wildest dreams, I never thought I would see this day," said Siegel. "I am forever grateful to my wonderful radio team, the great company I work for and the terrific people of Boston."
