Alpha Media Flips KBAY-KKDV/San Jose to ''Bay Country''

Alpha Media flips Classic Hits KBAY (94.7 Bay FM)/San Jose and AC KKDV (92.1)/Concord, CA to a Country simulcast as "Bay Country." A local air staff to be announced is set to be joined by Premiere Networks-syndicated "The Bobby Bones Show" in mornings, effective Friday, April 15th. The move follows that sale of crosstown Country KRTY to Educational Media Foundation (EMF), which is expected to flip the station to Christian programming in June.

Market Manager David Drutz said, "With the recent sale of KRTY, the County format would have no longer been offered. We feel strongly that Country is a format that the market deserves, and we are excited to keep it alive and well in the Bay Area with much greater coverage than ever before."

"The team at Alpha are amazing partners," added Bones. "And thank you EVP/Content Phil Becker, who is changing the industry daily, which I would say even if he wasn't instrumental in the growth of my show. I can't wait to get on in the Bay Area and make some new friends every morning."
