SiriusXM and Howard Stern will dedicate Stern's Howard 101 channel to the late comedian and frequent guest of "The Howard Stern Show," Gilbert Gottfried. The comedian made his debut on Stern's show in 1987, and his humor and impressions quickly made him a favorite guest. He went on to appear in more than 100 shows, making him one of Stern's most frequent guests.
The tribute will feature favorite moments from Gottfried's decades of appearances, including his very first, plus his legendary interactions with Stern's callers, his stories about his season on Saturday Night Live and his reaction to being fired by AFLAC after joking about the Japanese Tsunami.
This weekend's special programming will also include replays of Stern's hour-long eulogy of Gottfried from Wednesday's "The Howard Stern Show," the morning after Gottfried's death. During the show, Stern remembered his friend for his unique comedic voice, saying "I thought Gilbert was one of the most naturally funny, most gifted human beings on the planet." He added, "I have a really fond place in my heart for Gilbert... .He was terrific, he was a master of his craft."
"Howard Stern Remembers Gilbert Gottfried" will air on Howard Stern's SiriusXM channel Howard 101 from 10am ET Saturday through Sunday evening.
