iHeartMedia/Syracuse will celebrate the 100th anniversary of News Radio 570 WSYR with a proclamation from the Mayor of Syracuse, Ben Walsh, on Thursday, September 15. The local proclamation, along with local video greetings and dignitaries, can be seen at www.570wsyr.com on Thursday, September 15, to coincide with the station's historic launch. In addition, WSYR will reveal an online museum featuring previously archived photographs and biographies of past air personalities and more.

"From its earliest days, News Radio 570 WSYR has been an integral part of this community," said iHeartMedia Upstate New York President Robert J. Morgan. "Generations of Central New Yorkers have depended on News Radio 570 WSYR for relevant, accurate and up to the minute coverage of the topics that matter most to the local community. We intend to build on this legacy in the next 100 years and will always be here with news, conversation, and companionship in times of crisis and celebration."

While WSYR was first licensed in 1926, the origin of its founding was September 15, 1922, when WMAC was started. WMAC would later be merged with WSYR. Throughout its history as a cornerstone of the Syracuse media landscape, 570 WSYR has been the home to legendary news talk voices such as Bob Lonsberry, Dave Allen, Joe Galuski, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Clay Travis & Buck Sexton, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, George Noory and more.
