iHeartMedia's Country KXKT-FM (KAT 103.7) Omaha's first "Day of 1,000 Thank You's" collected over 2,400 thank you cards in the past three weeks to be delivered to veterans in the community just in time for Veterans Day. The "Day of 1,000 Thank You's" started as a concept with KAT 103.7 Program Director Hoss Michaels who wanted to do something special for area veterans around the Veteran's Day holiday.

Michaels said, "Our listeners support us in so many ways throughout the year by donating money to great charitable causes. Our listeners are stretching their budget more and more and with this, we wanted to give back without having our listeners reach into their bank account. We had an outpouring of support from area schools, businesses and civic groups and organizations that wanted to help."

KAT 103.7 on-air personalities Steve Lundy and Gina Melton will deliver the cards to several different Veteran organizations on Thursday, November 10, in time for the Veterans Day holiday. Veteran organization include Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, The Offutt Air Force Base Airman and Family Readiness Center and the Omaha Vet Center
