KNCU (92.7 FM) has officially relaunched as FOX Sports Newport, bringing national and local sports talk to the Oregon Coast under new ownership and a revamped format. The station, previously branded as "Hank FM" and owned by longtime broadcaster Dave Miller, was recently acquired by KORE Broadcasting of Eugene. With the new ownership comes a renewed focus on sports programming, anchored by the FOX Sports Radio.
Listeners in the region will now have access to nationally syndicated shows including The Dan Patrick Show and The Herd with Colin Cowherd, along with Oregon's most popular local sports program, The Bald-Faced Truth with John Canzano, hosted by the former Oregonian columnist.
FOX Sports Newport also plans to feature locally focused programming such as Danny and Justin, a live daily show airing from 2-3pm; Friday Night Live, a high school football program airing during the fall season; and GameDay Pre & Post Game Shows on select college football Saturdays.
In addition to talk programming, the station is preparing for live game broadcasts of Oregon Ducks football and men's basketball, LA Chargers football, and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
A live stream of the full station lineup will be available soon at FOXSportsNewport.com and via smart speaker platforms.
"We're excited to bring high-quality sports radio to the Oregon Coast," said Steve Woodward, Station Manager at FOX Sports Newport. "KNCU has one of the strongest sports lineups in the entire state. We hope to be your #1 choice for sports on the coast."
