WCBS-FM/New York celebrated the career of longtime on-air host Scott Shannon, who will retire on December 16. The station dedicated the WCBS-FM studio in Scott's honor, renaming it as "The Scott Shannon CBS-FM Studio." Shannon hosts two syndicated radio shows, "America's Greatest Hits" and the "True Oldies Channel," in addition to "Shannon in the Morning," which airs daily on WCBS-FM in New York. He is recognized for creating the "Morning Zoo" format at WRBQ in Tampa and in 1983, launching New York's iconic Z100.
Notably, Shannon co-hosted the longest-running AM morning drive-time show in New York radio history, the "Scott & Todd Big Show." He is a recipient of a Marconi Radio Award for Syndicated Personality of the Year, as well as the 2003 radio inductee into NAB's Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
