Longtime WJKK (Mix 98.7)/Jackson, MS Program Director and air personality John Anthony will hang-up his headphones following his afternoon show on January 20. The final signoff will put a bow on what has been a 43-year radio career that began in Columbus, MS, in 1980. Prior to Jackson, his previous radio stops include roles as an Operations Manager, Program Director and air talent in Columbus MS, Fayette AL, Charleston SC and Meridian MS.

Anthony said, "Radio has been my life. I woke up recently and 43 incredibly fun years had flown by. My utmost gratitude to Clay Holladay for bringing me here and allowing me to become a part of the Jackson metro community. This is where, 4 years ago, I met and married my wife. I have served on numerous boards. Served as President of the Madison City Chamber. I will continue to call this area our home. It's been an honor to work with so many talented individuals and to have met so many great listeners."

New South owner Clay Holladay added, "John has done a great job in his nearly 20 years with Mix 98.7. The audience has shown him the same high level of love and respect that we have had for him during his time with us. He will be greatly missed."
