New Workbook Offers Radio Copywriters a Script Checkup

A new tool designed specifically for radio copywriters is earning praise for helping transform commercial scripts with practical and proven techniques. The Daily Script Doctor Workbook, available now as a free download from RadioCopywriters.com, introduces a 250-point assessment system aimed at improving the effectiveness of radio ads.

Tested globally by readers of Radio Copy Paste Magazine and working copywriters, the workbook is compact -- under 20 pages -- but packed with actionable insights. It breaks down radio commercial evaluation into 12 critical categories, including strategy, hook strength, message clarity, persuasive language, production readiness, and more.

Radio veteran Earl Pilkington, the workbook's creator, calls it a "simple, practical and proven tool designed to transform how radio copywriters honestly assess and refine their commercial scripts before client presentation."

He noted that many early testers used the workbook to break through creative blocks. "They uncovered simple fixes and discovered problems they hadn't spotted before," he said.

The scoring system offers benchmarks: scripts that score 90-100% are considered production-ready, while those in the 70-90% range may require tweaks. Scripts scoring under 70% likely need a rewrite.

According to its creators, consistent use of the workbook has led to improved writing skills, fewer client revisions, faster development timelines, and more distinctive, effective radio ads.
