WETF/South Bend Off the Air After Fire Damages Tower

Jazz WETF-LP/South Bend, IN is partially off the air after a fire earlier this week damaged its antenna, reports WSBT-TV (CBS 22). The fire at the Marycrest building started due to an issue with the elevator system, which led to the station's antenna catching fire. It was quickly put out by South Bend firefighters. However, the transmission cable had to be cut, resulting in a loss of its signal. WETF can still be heard on its website.
"We have a post office box, and we would really appreciate donations and you could donate to WETF and, by the way, we are a 501c non-profit station so whatever tax laws there are, it would be tax deductible under the federal and state tax laws," WETF's Program Director Brent Banulis told the TV outlet.
