KWAM/Memphis Awarded TAB Best Local News Coverage Award

News/Talk KWAM-AM/Memphis was awarded Best Local News Coverage for Large Market at the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting competition. The award was presented at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. KWAM, owned by Todd Starnes, was cited for its breaking news coverage the night a gunman went on a rampage across Memphis.

The winning team included Starnes, Ben Deeter, Grace Baker, Caleb Parke, Alan Pillow and Earle Farrell. The station received a second place finish in Public Service. Earlier this year KWAM was presented with a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for best digital coverage.
