''Flashpoint'' Podcast Sheds New Light 1996 Olympic Bombings

On July 27, 1996, a domestic terrorist's bomb shattered the safety of the Summer Centennial Olympic Games held in Atlanta, GA. The FBI's flawed search and the media's fixation on the wrong man have been the focus of this moment in history for nearly 30 years. But the story didn't end there.

Eric Rudolph, a fervent follower of the white supremacist Christian Identity Movement, wasn't finished. The terrorist planned his next, more overtly political attacks on two abortion clinics, one in Birmingham, and one in metro Atlanta, as well as a lesbian nightclub, also in the Atlanta area.

Co-produced by Tenderfoot TV and iHeartPodcasts, "Flashpoint" will revisit the manhunt for a serial bomber and delve into the harrowing aftermath, and the victims overlooked, a chapter often forgotten. The series will explore the impact of these attacks through the personal stories of the victims and their families who were left to pick up the pieces.

"Flashpoint" sheds light on the impact of these events through a personal lens, unearthing Rudolph's motivations, while exploring America's greatest threat, the political and religious radicalization of homegrown terrorists. Hosted by Cole Locascio, who takes listeners through his own shocking connection to these bombings, the series will also reveal first-hand stories.

The first two episodes of "Flashpoint" will premiere on Thursday, July 25, and new episodes will be released each Wednesday on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard.
