RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, November 7, 2024 |
Benztown has released two fresh episodes of its podcast, "Chachi Loves Everybody," hosted by Dave "Chachi" Denes, the company's president. The new episodes spotlight conversations with notable media figures Al Roker and Patsy Smullin, both of whom are set to be honored at the upcoming Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts luncheon.
Al Roker, celebrated NBC weatherman and a familiar face on "The Today Show," delves into his extensive career across various media facets in his episode. Roker shares anecdotes from his upbringing in Queens to his ascension to national broadcasting, emphasizing authenticity and personality in media. He also touches on his ventures outside broadcasting, including his work with Al Roker Entertainment and personal projects in writing and cooking.
In a similar vein, Patsy Smullin, owner and president of California Oregon Broadcasting, recounts her journey influenced by her father, legendary broadcaster Bill Smullin. Her episode explores her multifaceted roles in cable TV, her leadership at KOBI, and her commitment to unbiased journalism. Smullin also discusses her responsibilities in running her father's company and her active participation in community service and philanthropy.
Both episodes come just in time as Roker and Smullin prepare to receive honors at the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation's event on November 12, 2024, at Gotham Hall, NYC. This recognition celebrates their significant contributions to the broadcasting industry.
