WDZD-LP (Fun One Radio), a community station in Monroe, NC, has once again been awarded "Radio Station of the Year" at the 30th Annual Carolina Beach Music Awards, held at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach, SC. This notable achievement marks the fourth victory in five years for the station, reinforcing its prominence in the Carolina beach music scene.

Broadcasting on 99.1 and 94.3 FM, Fun One Radio has a strong local presence in Monroe and a global reach through online streaming platforms like thefunone.org, TuneIn, and The Fun One app. The station is celebrated for its commitment to Classic Hits and Carolina Beach Music, a genre synonymous with the soulful, danceable rhythms of Southern coastal culture and the iconic Carolina shag dance.

In addition to the station's accolade, Eric Bowman, a celebrated figure in the beach music community and host of "The Wave New Beach Music Countdown," was honored with the Larry Crockett Award as "Radio DJ of the Year." Broadcasting every Saturday morning, Bowman's show is a hit among listeners for its mix of new and classic beach music tracks.
