In a move to boost radio stations' digital revenue, jacapps, a mobile app provider for the radio, has partnered with Jacobs Media to introduce a new product, jacapps DR. This three-step program is designed to help radio stations of all sizes and capabilities enhance their digital revenue streams through effective app management.

jacapps COO Bob Kernen emphasized the adaptability of the new product. "jacapps DR is tailored to meet radio stations exactly where they are in their digital journey. Whether a station is building its audience, ready to monetize its existing inventory, or looking to leverage programmatic advertising, we offer support at every step," Kernen explained.

The program begins by assisting stations in promoting their apps and engaging their audience. Stations with a substantial following can quickly advance to monetizing their app's user base through direct sales or programmatic advertising. This includes sales team support and other resources to maximize digital income.

Jacobs Media Director of AI and Digital Revenue Chris Brunt highlighted the timeliness of this launch. "Given the current challenges in the industry, our new offering reinforces our commitment to the success of radio. We're inviting both current clients and new stations to explore how jacapps DR can refine their digital strategies," Brunt stated.

With projections from BIA Kelsey indicating that all audience and revenue growth in 2024 will stem from digital sources, jacapps DR aims to position radio clients at the forefront of this trend. By encouraging regular app usage among listeners, jacapps and Jacobs Media are setting the stage for stations to capitalize on digital opportunities and achieve sustainable growth.
