Denny Schaffer, a familiar voice to radio listeners in Bowling Green and Toledo, OH, will retire from his role as morning host at Cumulus Media's Classic Hits WRQN-FM. His final broadcast is set for Friday, December 20, marking the end of a career that has spanned over four decades and included numerous returns to his hometown market.

Schaffer's journey began in the early 1980s as the evening host at WRQN, then a CHR format. His career quickly expanded beyond Toledo, with stints at WCZY in Detroit and WLOL in Minneapolis. He returned to the area in the 1990s as the morning anchor of "The Breakfast Club" on WVKS (92.5 Kiss FM), a role he held through the early 2000s. During this period, he became a prominent figure in local radio before transitioning to the afternoon slot at Conservative Talk WSPD-AM.

After leaving Toledo, Schaffer hosted talk shows at WGST and WGKA in Atlanta, anchored mornings at WRNO-FM in New Orleans, and launched his own digital venture, DennyRadio.com. In 2014, he made his way back to Toledo to host mornings at Cumulus Hot AC WWWM-FM (Star 105). Four years later, he returned to WRQN, completing a full-circle moment in his career.

Currently, Schaffer hosts mornings alongside longtime partner Suzie Moser and producer Paul Spoerl, affectionately known as "Paul The Producer." His retirement will close a chapter on a career defined by a deep connection to the Toledo radio landscape and an enduring rapport with his audience.
