2024 Celebration of Service to America to Air Nationwide

The powerful community impact of local broadcasters will take center stage in the 2024 Celebration of Service to America, a one-hour special airing on over 600 radio and television stations nationwide. The program debuts on Saturday, December 7, and will run through Sunday, December 29.

"We are honored to share the extraordinary work of broadcasters who go above and beyond to uplift and connect their communities," said Michelle Duke, president of the NAB Leadership Foundation and chief diversity officer at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). "This program celebrates the passion, dedication, and creativity that make local broadcasters indispensable. It's an honor to spotlight their stories and the profound impact they have on the lives of their listeners and viewers."

Hosted by two-time Emmy Award-winning talk show host Tamron Hall, the program will feature inspiring stories from award-winning broadcasters who have made meaningful contributions to their communities. Prominent presenters include:

  • Big Boy, entertainer and host of The Voice of LA

  • Enrique Santos, iHeart Latino president and radio host

  • Joie Chen, broadcast journalist and news anchor

  • Blake Burman, anchor of NewsNation's The Hill

  • Wayne Brady, television personality

  • Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, wildlife ecologist and co-host of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild
This year's Celebration of Service to America Award radio winners include:
  • WLBC-FM/Muncie, IN

  • KTXY-FM/Columbia, MO

  • WFSH-FM/Atlanta, GA

  • Bonneville International

  • Cox Media Group
The special, produced by the NAB Leadership Foundation in collaboration with NAB Studio, will be distributed through The Walt Disney Company with Nielsen providing audience measurement services.

The winners were originally honored at the Celebration of Service to America gala held on June 4 at The Anthem in Washington, DC. Among the highlights, Mutual of Omaha received the prestigious Corporate Leadership Award for its outstanding commitment to community service and corporate responsibility.
