iHeartMedia Country WKKT (96.9 The Kat) in Charlotte has successfully raised $200,033 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through its annual Radiothon. The fundraising event, which took place on December 6 and 7, drew substantial local support, contributing to ongoing efforts in pediatric cancer research and treatment.

The two-day Radiothon featured broadcasts by 96.9 The Kat personalities such as Paul Schadt & Sarah Lee, Angie Ward, Ashley Wilson and Eddie Foxx. These hosts rallied listeners to support the cause by becoming Partners in Hope, committing to monthly donations to help St. Jude in its mission to fight pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Listeners were moved by stories of patients like Alex, a 7-year-old cancer survivor from Dilworth, and Annie, a young girl from Union County who recently celebrated the end of her treatment at St. Jude. These personal accounts underscored the critical work and progress being made by the hospital, emphasizing the direct impact of community contributions.

96.9 The Kat Program Director Ashley Wilson expressed gratitude and determination, stating, "Once again, the Charlotte community has stepped up for the St. Jude kids. We will not stop until no child dies of cancer. It's an honor every year to leverage our platform to save children and find cures that impact children in the Carolinas and beyond."

Since the inception of this partnership in 1994, 96.9 The Kat has raised over $5.1 million for St. Jude, helping to ensure that thousands of children receive lifesaving treatments at no cost to their families.
