KIRO (Newsradio 97.3 FM and Seattle Sports 710 AM) have launched the 36th Annual Holiday Magic Fundraiser, a tradition supporting Treehouse, a Washington-based nonprofit that provides education and enrichment opportunities for children and youth in foster care. The campaign aims to provide each child in the program with a meaningful holiday gift and fund critical programs year-round.
This year's initiative includes an online auction running from December 4 to December 11, and a "Day of Giving" on December 11 from 6am to 7pm. The auction boasts exclusive items, such as Seattle Seahawks and Mariners sports packages, autographed memorabilia, and unique experiences like a fishing trip with Tom Nelson and Dave Wyman, lunch at Tom Douglas' Hot Stove Society, staycations and radio show sit-ins.
On December 11, both KIRO Newsradio and Seattle Sports will air stories, host special guests, and feature musical acts to encourage donations. Incentives for donors include restaurant gift cards, Mariners bobbleheads, arena sports gift cards, and KIRO Newsradio merchandise, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bonneville/Seattle Senior Vice President and Market Manager Cathy Cangiano highlighted the longstanding impact of the campaign: "It is remarkable to celebrate 36 years of partnership between KIRO Newsradio and Treehouse in producing Holiday Magic. We have worked with Treehouse to create the Holiday Magic Campaign longer than any other community initiative, and it has become a part of our purpose and mission."
The 2024 campaign, themed "Little Things Make Big Things Happen," underscores the importance of collective impact. Dawn Rains, CEO of Treehouse, explained: "The little things we do-whether it's a Treehouse Education Specialist checking in on a student's grades, a workplace hosting a clothing drive, or a volunteer helping in our Seattle store-all contribute to creating a brighter future for our young people."
Donations for the Holiday Magic campaign will be accepted online at here through December 24.
