CHR KRBE/Houston successfully hosted its third annual "Houston's Little Heroes" fundraising event, raising $164,012.32 to support Texas Children's Hospital. The event, held on Thursday, December 5, brought together the Houston community in a collective effort to benefit the renowned not-for-profit health care organization.
Texas Children's Hospital, known for its dedication to advancing the health and well-being of children and women globally, provides vital patient care, education, and research. The funds raised will support the hospital's ongoing mission to improve the lives of young patients facing medical challenges.
The daylong broadcast began with "The Roula & Ryan Show" live from Texas Children's Hospital, featuring moving testimonials from hospital staff, patients, and their families. The programming continued with KRBE Afternoon Drive hosts Kevin and Audrey, sharing inspiring stories of hope and resilience made possible through the Children's Miracle Network.
"We are so grateful for the incredible support from our community," said KRBE-FM Regional Content Director Leslie Whittle. "Houston's Little Heroes is an opportunity for our listeners to come together and make a real impact. We're excited to offer a fun and interactive way for our listeners to get involved while supporting a cause that truly matters on a local level."
Listeners contributed to the cause by calling a designated hotline, texting "KRBE" to a special number, or donating online. The station emphasized that every contribution, regardless of size, plays a critical role in supporting the hospital's mission.
Donations to Texas Children's Hospital can still be made by visiting the event's website.
