In a significant shift in media consumption, video podcasts are gaining notable traction among Latino audiences in the U.S., according to the latest insights from the Latino Podcast Listener Report 2024. The report, a collaborative effort supported by LWC Studios, Latino Media Network, Libsyn, SiriusXM Podcast Network and Uforia Podcasts, highlights the evolving preferences of Latino listeners as they increasingly engage with video podcasts alongside traditional audio formats.

Podcasts remain a vital entertainment source for the Latino community, with 43% of Latinos aged 18 and over tuning into podcasts monthly. While 72% of these listeners still consume audio-only content, a larger segment of 86% are now also watching video podcasts. Additionally, 66% of listeners often have video content playing in the background or minimized on their devices, underscoring a robust engagement with video elements.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Latino Podcast Listener Report, which has continuously provided valuable insights into the preferences and behaviors of Latino audiences. Celebrating half a decade of research, the 2024 edition of the report is set to unveil new findings and include video interviews with podcast creators. These creators will discuss how previous research insights have helped them expand their reach and deepen connections with their audiences.

The community is invited to join a special webinar featuring Gabriel Soto, Senior Director of Research at Edison Research, and Elsie Escobar, Director of Community and Content at Libsyn. The webinar, scheduled for December 17 at 2pm ET, will explore the significant findings of the report and discuss the future of podcasting in the Latino community. This event promises to offer an in-depth look at the trends shaping this dynamic segment of the media landscape.
