The community spirit shone brightly at Jordan's Furniture in New Haven on December 13, where the annual "Chaz and AJ Crabtree Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive" hosted by 99.1 WPLR's Chaz and AJ in the Morning brought together hundreds of supporters, raising a whopping $193,553 in cash and toy donations.

The charity event, benefiting local children's charities, saw an overwhelming turnout with attendees donating toys or cash as admission. Contributions from sponsors, community members and listeners swelled the total donations, reflecting a massive show of support for the initiative.

The event featured a lineup of entertainment and special guests, including live performances by Josey Scott, former vocalist of Saliva, and Randy Jackson of Zebra. Local youth band Rock House and The Rum Runners also performed, adding a vibrant local flavor to the proceedings.

A unique addition to the festivities was the "Cataoke" competition, where participants sang popular songs in meows. WFSB's Nicole Nalepa won the crowd over with her rendition of "Your Love" by The Outfield, taking home this year's trophy.

Distinguished guests included Governor Ned Lamont, who delighted the audience with an impromptu piano solo, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, and several local mayors and officials who joined in celebrating the season of giving. Governor Lamont and concert promoter Jimmy Koplik entertained attendees with a round of music trivia, while local TV news celebrities Scot Haney, Marcy Jones, and Caitlin Frances of WFSB showcased their musical talents.

Connoisseur Media Vice President of Programming Keith Dakin expressed his admiration for the event's success, "Every year I think there is no way we can beat last year, and every year I'm proven wrong. The performances, laughter, and unwavering generosity of our listeners are always impressive."

The donations collected are set to benefit several organizations including Boys and Girls Village, Inc., Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, BH Care, and the Center for Family Justice Inc., ensuring a brighter holiday season for many children across the region.
