KNBR (The Sports Leader) has renewed its broadcast agreement with the San Francisco Giants, extending its role as the Major League Baseball team's flagship station through the 2028 season. This renewal celebrates a partnership that began in 1979, making it one of the longest-running alliances in broadcast sports.

Giants President and CEO Larry Baer expressed his enthusiasm about continuing the relationship with KNBR. "We are excited to continue our incredible partnership with KNBR, and thrilled KNBR remains our flagship station for Giants fans at least through the 2028 season," Baer said. He highlighted the quality of the broadcast team, describing them as "the best broadcast team in all of Major League Baseball" and praised their year-round, in-depth coverage that engages fans both during and outside the baseball season.

Larry Blumhagen, Regional Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus San Francisco-Los Angeles, shared his excitement about the extension. "All of us at KNBR are elated to know we are committed to having Giants baseball through our 50th year together in 2028. We look forward to providing Giants fans with gameday coverage on all our platforms from AM/FM to streaming," Blumhagen commented.

Mike Hohler, Program Director at KNBR, reflected on the personal significance of the extension. "Growing up listening to Giants baseball on KNBR, I have vivid memories of childhood summer days spent listening to Hank Greenwald paint the picture of Will Clark hitting a ball into the upper deck at Candlestick Park," Hohler remarked. "It means a great deal to me to be at the helm of KNBR when signing an extension that keeps these two legendary brands together through the 50th year of our partnership. It's a proud moment for me not only as the Program Director for KNBR, but as a lifelong Giants fan."

The partnership has been marked by historic broadcasts of some of the most significant moments in Giants history, featuring iconic broadcasters such as Jon Miller, Dave Flemming, Mike Krukow, and Duane Kuiper. KNBR will continue to offer comprehensive coverage including pre-game and post-game shows, and off-season programming like the Giants' Hot Stove, ensuring that Giants fans have access to baseball content all year round.
