Spanish Broadcasting System has expanded its reach into Texas with the debut of KROI-FM (La Ley 92.1 FM) in Houston. This marks SBS's first venture in the Texas market, introducing Regional Mexican music and entertainment tailored for Houston's growing Hispanic population. La Ley 92.1 FM will air 50,000 commercial-free songs from artists such as Grupo Frontera, Carin Leon, Julion Alvarez, Banda MS, Intocable, and Los Angeles Azules.
Veteran broadcaster Raul Brindis will helm the morning show, bringing over three decades of radio experience and a strong local following. Known for his engaging and humorous style, Brindis is set to deliver a blend of music, laughter, and community-focused content, making mornings on La Ley 92.1 a vibrant start to the day for many Houstonians.
SBS President, CEO and Chairman Raul Alarcon Jr. expressed enthusiasm about the new station, stating, "As we expand our footprint into Texas, we are thrilled to bring the SBS legacy to Houston with the launch of La Ley 92.1. Houston's diverse and dynamic Hispanic community deserves a station that not only delivers exceptional music but also reflects their culture, pride, and traditions."
The station was acquired by SBS in April, 2023 from Urban One in a deal that was delayed by the terminated sale of SBS's Mega TV.
